I have been buoyantly
floating on an endless sheet
Of effervescent water
I have ridden violently
Knocking against
Earth’s liquid glass
On other days I gently
Floated upon the
Surface of the deep
I waded in the stream
Stood tall and erect
In the bowels of the creek
Proudly walked
Across the great rapids
And I am one with the sea
I survive
I’m driftwood
And with my cork-like quality
I float
I live forever
