The key to having less stress each morning and being well dressed daily is planning outfits for the week on Sunday evenings. To plan better, you need an organized closet.
Completing the closet items from the New Year Home Declutter Project gave me a great head start.
- I threw out old clothes and coats.
- Old hangars and damaged items were eliminated.
- After extensive research, I then purchased items below that will streamline the space.
The next step is to make the closet truly functional by installing the storage systems that make prepping my outfits for the week easier.
- Organizers for socks and underwear.
- Sunglasses organizer box.
- Hangars for both pants and other clothing.
- Purse storage organizers.
- Closet Divider Labels (multi-functional)
- Partitioned clothing boxes for tee shirts.
- Shoe Storage boxes.
Then I utilize these folding techniques to save space on shelves and keep organized drawers.
Finally, it’s time to prep outfits and accessories.
There are four things I ask myself when planning my outfits for the week.
- What is the weather this week?
- Where am I going? If I’m at home all day, what meetings/video calls do I have?
- What am I going to be doing?
- Is there a first impression or an image I wish to project?
